Terms of Use and Privacy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
These terms describe the use of the ESP IDE website, the online ESP IDE editor, the project catalog, and related services operated by Milan Špaček.
1. Using ESP IDE
ESP IDE is an educational and development tool for programming microcontrollers with blocks and MicroPython. The service is provided without any availability guarantee, without a warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, and users use it at their own responsibility.
2. Online Editor and Google Analytics
The ESP IDE online editors, especially the new version at /esp_ide_v2/
and the original editor at /esp_ide/editor.html, include traffic and
usage measurement through Google Analytics. This helps understand whether the editor
works correctly, which parts are used, and where performance, stability, or user
experience should be improved.
When using the editor, Google Analytics may process common technical and analytical data such as device and browser information, approximate geographic area, visited pages, usage time, and interactions with the editor. ESP IDE does not use this data to sell personal data or to directly identify a specific person.
If you do not agree with analytics measurement in the online editor, do not launch the online editor. You can use the offline ESP IDE version available in the Downloads section.
3. Website, Cookies, and Consent
On regular ESP IDE website pages, analytics and marketing tools are loaded according to the choice made in the cookie banner. Technical cookies required for basic website functionality may be used without optional consent.
You can reopen cookie settings on the homepage at any time using the "Change cookie settings" link in the footer.
4. Project Catalog
The project catalog allows users to share projects created in ESP IDE. Submitted projects may go through moderation. The operator may hide, reject, or adjust project metadata when needed for safety, spam prevention, inappropriate content, or catalog clarity.
5. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for projects, code, and content they submit to ESP IDE or the project catalog. Users must not submit malicious, illegal, offensive, or copyrighted third-party content without permission.
6. Contact
For questions about the website, project catalog, or privacy, contact the author at espide@email.cz.
